The place of worship African Methodist Episcopal Church in Iowa town, Iowa was inbuilt 1868 to serve a preponderantly African-American congregation. Originally referred to as Zion AME, place of worship is one in every of Iowa town’s oldest frame homes and therefore the oldest living structure related to African Americans in Iowa City. The initial church is 600 sq. Feet (56 m2) and has area for fifty folks. A new 4,000-square-foot (370 m2) sanctuary is being engineered which can hold thrice this congregation size.
