The former Bertelsmann Building, currently referred to as 1540 street, could be a 44-story, 733 foot (223 m) workplace tower in Times Square in Manhattan, ny town, standing at West forty fifth Street. The building was the North yankee headquarters of media conglomerate Bertelsmann from 1992 till the corporate vacated and sold-out the property, of that they occupied all office-use floors, in 2004.
The building housed United States of America satellites of central functions like company Development, company Communications and therefore the workplace of the Chairman and chief operating officer, also as serving as worldwide headquarters for the Bertelsmann Music cluster and Bertelsmann Book cluster (what has later taken on the umbrella brand Random House). Today’s workplace tenants embrace Viacom, China Central tv, Yahoo, and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. The building maintained the Bertelsmann name and assemblage facing street till its ultimate removal in late 2013.
