Detail InformationEdit

A wonderful road lined by beautiful ash trees leads to the recently renovated Bernau Moated Castle.
The rectangular Bernau Castle is dating back to the mid-16th century. The Baroque-style walls and façades were built later (in 1732). This outstanding three-story building was erected on a tiny plateau and features four rounded corner towers. Thanks to a stone bridge the castle is easily accessible. The castle´s ground floor boasts wonderful cross vaults and barrel vault ceilings.
A residential building, also a part of Bernau Castle, is situated opposite. The building is characterized by its giant gate, the marvelous clock tower and the wide outdoor staircase.
Bernau Moated Castle is privately owned and, unfortunately, not open to the public. The surrounding area is freely accessible.
