The Claude Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre may be a Broadway theatre situated at 242 West forty fifth Street (George Abbott Way) in midtown Manhattan. Designed by creator Victor Herbert J. Krapp, it opened because the Royale Theatre on Jan eleven, 1927 with a musical entitled Piggy. Producer John Golden hired the theatre and renamed it for himself from 1932 to 1937 (when he touched to the Theatre party next door). The Shubert Organization then assumed possession and ab initio hired the theatre to CBS Radio. In 1940 the Royale was rebuilt to use as a legitimate theatre beneath its original name. On May 9, 2005, it had been renamed for old Shubert Organization president Claude Bernard B. Jacobs.
