By Air : Behrampur does not have its own airport. The nearest domestic as well as international airport is at Kolkata, which is around 744 km from the town.

By Train : Trains can be taken to the town of Berhampur from many important national destinations like Mumbai (Konark Exp), Chennai (Chennai Howrah Express) and Howrah (Teesta Torsa Exp). Trains from the city of Chennai to Berhampur will charge fares of around Rs 363 for the basic class of travel (sleeper). Air conditioned coaches will cost around Rs 1,316 (for AC Tier Two). Charges can also go up to Rs 2,243 (for AC First Class). Trains are comfortable and this is a good mode of travel that you can opt for.

By BUS : Buses are the locally preferred mode of travel, and these are instantly available. Frequent buses will be available to Berhampur from all destinations including Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Kolkata. This is a very good way to travel to Berhampur, and fares from Jeypore to Berhampur will range around Rs 290 for the basic class of travel (sitting, semi deluxe). Thakurani Jatara. ; Venue:  Brahmapur ; Period :  April – May ; Details:  Bi-Annual Thakurani Jaatara, the Festival of the Goddess. The city is agog with activities to welcome goddess Budhi Thakurani to her temporary abode for the biennial Thakurani Jatra festival at late night . The hereditary head of the festival, who is also regarded as the head of the weaver Dera community of the city, Desibehera dressed in his traditional attire reached the Budhi Thakurani temple to invite the goddess to her parental abode at his home on Saturday afternoon. His wife also accompanied him as per the tradition. They also offered ritualistic offerings at the Kalika temple. Changudi puja Rituals to welcome the deity for the festival started at the temporary temple built at Desibehera street from evening with the `Changudi Puja”. After rituals, flowers would be carried from Desibehera”s house to the Budhi Thakurani temple in this special basket called `Changudi.
