Detail InformationEdit
Belvedere Palace Chapel is an architecturally-significant chapel in the Belvedere in Austria. The Belvedere is one of Austria’s most highly frequented museums, housing both the World’s largest Gustav Klimt collection and the most extensive collection of Austrian art worldwide. An additional distinctive feature of the Belvedere is its architecturally integrated chapel, which today welcomes visitors to Mass every Sunday.
The Belvedere, Austria’s oldest museum, was not originally conceived as such, but as a summer residence for one of the most successful military leaders in Austrian history, Prince Eugene of Savoy. The Belvedere, conceived as a summer residence, is a lavish Baroque palace ensemble, consisting of the Upper Belvedere, the Lower Belvedere, the Orangery, and the Palace Stables. These are framed by magnificent Baroque gardens.
