One of the most valuable buildings of the city Kolobrzeg. Its construction started around 1300 as a parish church for the new city. In the fifteenth century the church was already present shape. Its size and rich decor is a sign of ambition wealthy Hanseatic city which was the medieval Kolobrzeg.
During the siege of the fortress of Kolobrzeg (1758,60,61, 1807) was severely damaged during the fighting and in 1945 completely burned out. In its present form was rebuilt in 1972-1982 year. In the midst of exceptional value are preserved medieval works of art.
