Detail InformationEdit
The lovely Baroque church of Kallham dominates the landscape with its magnificent onion tower and is dubbed “”Innviertel´s Cathedral””.
The parish of Kallham is deeply steeped in history. In earlier times it was rated among the richest and most solid parishes of the Passau Diocese and was patronized by the canons and suffragan bishops of Passau.
The most popular among the parish priests of Kallham is Karl Cajetan Reichsgraf Kardinal Gaisruck, suffragan bishop of Passau (later archbishop of Milan and a finally cardinal).
The church you see today is dedicated to Saint Mary with an altarpiece depicting the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. The annual parish fair is celebrated on Ascension Day, which is August 15th.
