Today, Barksdale presents season at 2 home locations: Barksdale Theatre at Hanover tap house and Barksdale Theatre at The outlets At Willow field. Barksdale is recognized as Central Virginia’s leading skilled theatre. It’s presently run below the leadership of inventive Director Bruce Miller and administrator Phil Whiteway. Barksdale Theatre united with Theatre IV in 2012 to become Virginia Repertory Theatre.On August 1, 1953, six actors, 2 youngsters, a dog and 2 pigs stirred into a historic ruin known as Hanover tap house. The transplanted New Yorkers based Central Virginia’s initial skilled theatre, and named the corporate in memory of a deceased faculty friend, Barbara Barksdale. After they learned that their new neighbors looked forward to ingestion on evenings out, they combined favorite recipes and created the nation’s initial house.
