Baramati is a city that is located in the Pune district of the state of Maharashtra. The city has a rich cultural heritage and it is known as one of the important historical places in the state. The city is located along the banks of the River Karha and it is known for its extensive agricultural exports. Green fields can be seen in and around the place and this renders a natural beauty to the place. The town has a history of about 400 years and there are two main temples that are located in the town. The Sri Kasivisheveshwara Temple and Sri Siddeshwar Temple are the important temples in the region. The Sri Siddeshwar Temple is known as an architectural gem and this is one of the most important places to visit for tourists. This is also an interesting place for those who are interested in ancient architecture. The Sri Kasivisheveshwara Temple is located on the banks of the river on the western side and this temple is also an important part of the city. The city has gained importance due to Sri Babuji Naik, who is revered in these parts and his mansion is home to an enormous Nandi idol. It is possible to visit the mansion during the day. The place is located at an elevation of about 538 meters and experiences a dry climate for most parts of the year. Since it is located in the interior region of the state, the rainfall is also not extensive even during the monsoon months. The period between the monsoon and the winter months are the best time to visit the place.

Baramati- one of the well known historical places in Maharashtra- is situated at the banks of the river Karha. The town has a historical significance because of Shri. Babuji Naik. The town is also famous in Maharashtra because of the popular poet Moropant, the great legendary poet laureate.The town has a long history of about 400 years. The town has two old temples which are built around 750 AD. One of them is of Shri Kashivishweshwar- based on the west bank of the river, the other is of Shri Sidheshwar, located on the east bank of the river. The temple is located near Babuji Naik’s Mansion.The historical references of this beautiful place can be seen in the books written by two famous historians, namely Dr. Shejwalkar and Mr. Grant Duff.

By Air : The nearest airport from Baramati is 100 km from Pune by roadis located at Pune. There are various flights connecting Pune to all the major cities of India. You can take a flight to Pune and proceed to Baramati by taxi or bus.

By Train : The Baramati Railway Station receives many trains and it is well connected to Pune. Trains are the most comfortable way to reach the place and tickets are affordable as well. Tickets from Pune to Baramati cost around Rs 100 for non A/C 3 tier compartments.

By BUS : The state transport buses connect many of the cities in the state to Baramati. Places such as Pune and Mumbai are well connected to the city. Buses are the cheapest form of transport and one can board them from the main bus terminuses of the respective cities. Tickets from Pune to Baramati cost around Rs 75 and the trip takes around 2.5 hours by bus.

By Taxi : It’s around 100 kilometres from Pune city by road and the drive takes around 3 hours on an average. It can also be accessed via the Satara highway which is longer distance wise, but quicker because of broad roads.
