Bancroft could be a city situated on the York stream in Hastings County within the province of Ontario. The place was initial incorporated as a village in Dec 1904. In 1999, the Village of Bancroft integrated with Dungannon administrative district to create the city of Bancroft. The city was once a centre for work, trapping, and mining. atomic number 92 mining created a boom within the Nineteen Fifties and 60s, however the closing of the Madawaska Mine in 1982 caused some economic hardship.
