Bamda is a small town in the Nyingchi Prefecture in the south-east of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, roughly 1,000 km from Lhasa. It is basically an army garrison with a small Tibetan village around the corner. It lies at an altitude of 4,400 metres. The village is located 22 km east of Qoiden and about 32 km from the border with Sichuan.
