Bakhuizen is a village in the municipality Gaasterland-Locks in the Dutch province of Friesland.Bakhuizen situated on a boulder hill that is left after the Riss-glacial and already in 1412 called. Het telt 1005 inwoners (01-01-2008). It has 1005 inhabitants (01-01-2008). In het dorp staat een multifunctioneel centrum ( de Gearte ) en het ScheerMuseum, gewijd aan de geschiedenis van het (nat) scheren. In the village stands a multifunctional center (the Gearte) and Scheer Museum, dedicated to the history of the (wet) shave. Verder is er de muziekvereniging Euphonia (anno 1898) en een koor. Then there’s the music association Euphonia (anno 1898) and a choir.
