Baddeck could be a Canadian village in Victoria County, star Scotia. It’s the county’s seat and is settled on the northern shore of Bras d’Or Lake on Cape Breton Island. Per some historians the name Baddeck comes from the Mi’kmaq term “Abadak” that has been translated as “place with Associate in Nursing island near” (in respect to Kidston Island, directly offshore). The creation of the Cabot path throughout the Thirties created Baddeck the concentration for vehicle itinerant on Cape Breton Island.
The village knowledgeable about a boom in post-World War II commercial enterprise, notably once the 1956 gap of the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic web site of North American nation and therefore the gap of the Trans-Canada route (Highway 105) directly north of the village throughout the first Nineteen Sixties.
