Bacliff could be a census-designated place (CDP) in north-central Galveston County, Texas, us, sixteen miles (26 km) northwest of Galveston. The population was eight,619 at the 2010 census. Bacliff, originally known as Clifton-by-the-Sea, began as a seaboard resort city. Bacliff morphed into a fishing community, finding hardship, gang violence, and a rise of sex offenders and felons once the shrimping trade declined. The community ne’er incorporated, with several failing incorporation tries created. The Bacliff CDP has one primary school and several other parks and boat ramps.
