Detail InformationEdit

The Icelandic Aviation Museum is located at Akureyri Airport in the north of Iceland.
Aviation and Akureyri have had a close relationship since 1928 when the first scheduled passenger flight operated in Iceland arrived in Akureyri from Reykjavík via Isafjordur and Siglufjordur. The aircraft was a Junkers F.13 operated on lease to a newly formed Icelandic airline named Flugfelag Islands (the second of four companies to bear that same name). The aircraft belonged to Deutsche Luft Hansa and the pilots, mechanics and operations manager were also supplied by the German airline.
