The three natural hot water springs at Tulsi Shyam is a popular tourist as well as pilgrimage site. These are located in the centre of the Gir forest at Junagad in Gujarat. The water in the first spring is just warm and the second one has hot water. However the third spring has boiling hot water and steam can be seen coming out of this water. It is believed that a bath in these springs will cure any sort of skin ailments. People who come here also visit the ancient temples of Lord Krishna and Rukmini Devi nearby. There are lions and tigers dwelling in the forest around, so it would be wise not to venture out alone. However, it is an excellent place for the adventurous people and wildlife lovers. Photographers will also find a trip to the Tulsi Shyam Springs rewarding. Uparkot Fort, Ashoka’s Rock Edicts, Damodar Kund, Chorwad beach and the temple of Girnar are other interesting sites in Junagad.

Tulsi Shyam Temple is an ancient temple of Lord Vishnu-Lord Shyam. Legend says that Lord Krishna eliminated the demon called Tul and so the place is associated with his name along with that of Krishna as Shyam and is thus called Tulsishyam. The idol of Lord Tulsishyam is said to be 3000 years old. It is made up of black stone. There is a hot sulphur sprint near the temple that is believed to have curative powers.

The Regional Plant Resource Centre (RPRC) was established in 1985 with the mandate of collecting, conserving and propagating plant species, specialized and unique plant communities. The Centre implements various research trials relating to rare, endangered and threatened plants group including Orchids, Cacti, Medicinal Plant among other species through in situ and ex situ conservation trials. The Centre has established its research sites, conservancy areas in various National Parks, Sanctuary and Biosphere Reserve of Odisha. In view of its role in the field of plant conservation, RPRC has been recognized as one of the R & D partners of Ministries of Environment & Forests, Department of Biotechnology, Indian Council of Agriculture & Research, Department of Science & Technology, National Medicinal Plant Board, Government of India and International Organisation like UNESCO and UNDP.
