Tara Mandir, in Porbandar belies its name as it not a temple at all but a planetarium, designed only by the donation of Shri Nanjibhai. Tara is actually Gujarati word for stars. What lends any relevance the place is that it’s one of the maiden 2 planetariums in India. Asian country to be started by the first Prime Minister of India Pandit jawaharlal nehru. Sudama Temple is a beautiful temple dedicated to Sudama the best friend of Lord Krishna. It is said to be the only temple in India dedicated to this ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. Its architecture is a simple with carved marble pillars and shikhar , open from all the sides situated in a garden with a small step-well and a temple dedicated to lord Ganesh Ji .

Sudama Temple was built in reverence to Sudama the childhood friend of Lord Krishna. the large number of people, especially the newly wed Rajasthani Ksahtriya couples, visit to the place every year. Sudama Temple built between 1902 and 1907, holds a great historic and spiritual importance. It’s said that because of the depletion of funds during the time of its construction, the devotees collected money by organizing drama shows. The temple has a place that depicts this entire part of depletion and collection of fund for the temple. As per the Vikram Samvat, the Hindu calendar, a monument in memory of Shri Ram Devji Jethwa, who was ruler of the Jethwa dynasty, has been created inside the temple. it’s said that he was severely wounded in a devious attack at that time.
