Kere Anjaneya Temple is devoted to Lord Hanuman and is believed to be the only Anjaneya Swami Temple consecrated and built by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. The temple has a huge idol of Lord Hanuman, along with shrines of Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha. The temple can be reached by climbing around 27 steps. Deepotsavam is the main festival celebrated here on a Saturday of the Kartika Krishnapaksha month.

The 33rd Jagadguru of Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham, Sri Sachidananda Shivabhinava Nrasimha Bharathiji has constructed a shrine for the founder of the Amneya Peetham, Sri Adi Shankara Bhagawatpada inside the Shardambal Temple complex. The murti is represented as seated in yogasana with chin mudra on the right hand and abhayamudra on the left. The pedestal of the image has four disciples and there is a shiva linga in the front. Special worship is offered during the Shanakara jayanti in the Month of April-May. The Adi shankara idol was being worshipped in the Janardana swami temple earlier. Sri Chandrashekara Bharati Mahaswamiji 33rd Acharaya, constructed a small shrine in a quadrangle pArijAta toThi within the math building north of Sharada temple and consecrated the Adi shankara idol.  Sri Abhinava Vidya Thirtha Swamiji 35th Acharaya, had constructed an attractive vimanam with a stupi constructed over the grabhagriha.

Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada established the first of the four Amnaya Peethams (Amnaya–The Veda; Peetham–Throne). One at Sringeri more than twelve centuries ago to foster the sacred tradition of Sanatana Dharma. In the 14th century, royal patronage to the Peetham began with the founding of the famous Vijayanagar empire under the divine guidance of the 12th Acharya, Jagadguru Sri Vidyaranya.

Sringeri matha is known as Sringeri Sharada Peetha. It is one of the four Hindu Advaita maths established by Adi Shankaracharya. It is also referred to as Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada peetam. Following the tradition initiated by Adi Shankaracharya, the maţha is in charge of the Yajur Veda (the Krishna (Black) Yajurveda is more prevalent in South India, over which the maţha has authority in the Smarta tradition).The head of the matha is called Jagadguru (teacher to the world) and also carries the Shankaracharya name as a title. The present Sringeri Shankaracharya is Shri Bharati Tirtha.

Guddattu Sri Vinayaka Temple is located near the foot of a huge granite rock that resembles a sleeping elephant. The main idol of Lord Ganesha is in a sitting position. The two important rituals performed here are the Ayurkoda Abhisheka and Akki Kadubu Seve. The Ayurkoda Abhisheka involves washing the idol with one thousand pots of water. The Akki Kadubu Seve involves the preparation of a dish using 480 kg of rice and 240 kg of common pulses.

Sri Ananthapadmanabha temple is the main attraction of Perdoor. This is very old temple located in the center of the village. Sri Anathapadmanabha temple also has a water tank (Pushkarani or Kalyani) attached to the temple. It is believed that the devotees will achieve all their desires by worshipping the lord at this temple. After fulfilling of their wishes devotees, will usually offer 1001 bananas as Harike to Lord Ananthapadmanabha at Perdoor. If you are travelling between Agumbe and Udupi via Hebri, then it’s worth a visit to this temple.

Sri Indrani Panchadurga Parameshwari Temple, is the Goddess Durga is exhibited herself here in the form of five laterite Lingas (Panchadurga). At its back portion, an idol of Vanadurga is found. It has been replaced be a stone sculpture as the earlier wood sculpture (Daru Shilpa) was deteriorated due to exposure to sum, rain and other natural factors. Sri Indrani Panchadurga Parameshwari Temple belonging to eleventh century, was last renovated in 1993 as per the plans of Raval Padmanabha Shastri, former priest of Sri Pashupathi Temple, Nepal. The whole sanctum sanctorum had been rebuilt in stones.

Bus : Buses regularly ply from major southern cities to Udupi. Volvo (AC buses), Airbuses or KSRTC buses are available here, choose as per your budget. Udupi has excellent city bus services run by various private companies. Buses generally start and end at the main bus stand. Bus stops are located throughout the city.

Train : Udupi is a major station on the Konkan railway route. There are connections with Mumbai and Mangalore. Major trains including Rajadhani Express stop at Udupi Railway Station. A night train is available from Mangalore to Bangalore, known simply as the Mangalore-Bangalore express.

Air : Mangalore International Airport is 59 km from Udupi. The airport is well-connected with major Indian cities and a few Middle-eastern destination. Prepaid taxis can be booked from the counter located inside the arrival terminal at ₹780 (as on 14-Jun-2008). They take approximately 1.5 hours to reach.

Others : Autorickshaws can be, and are generally a cheap mode to travel. For autos, fares start at ₹20 for the first 1.5 km and go up by ₹14 every kilometer after that.
