The great deity of Adishakthyathmaka Sri Annapoorneshwari’s Prathistapana was done by his holiness Agasthya Maharishi several centuries back. The only image depicts the Goddess Annapoorneshwari standing on a peeta with Shanku, Chakra, Sri Chakra Gayathri Devi and her four hands. The name “Annapoorneshwari” means “Feeding one and all.” The uniqueness of this temple is everybody who visit this temple are fed (with breakfast, lunch and dinner), and place to sleep in the temple premises. Shri Bheemeshwara Joshi is present Dharmakartaru of Annapoorneshwari temple. Boarding and lodging is provided by Temple trust. Temple guest houses are available to stay. If the rooms are not available, visitors can keep their bags and luggages at luggage room and and sleep at the temple premisis.

Sri kshetra Horanadu is situated on the banks of river Bhadra, surrounded by the natural vegetation, forest, green lands, and natural beauty of the Western Ghats. It is famous for an old temple, the Annapoorneshwari Temple. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Annapoorneshwari, one of the incarnations of Goddess Durga. Sri Sthambha Ganapati Temple is also known as the Kambadha Ganapati Shrine. Sri Ahinava Narasimha Bharati, the 24th Acharya, carved the image of Lord Ganesha with a piece of turmeric. Balasubrahmanya Swami temple was consecrated in 1978 by Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamigal. Lord Muruga appears in this posture in the temple. Later some poor people (Aandi) were worshipping Him. A devotee on his pilgrimage stayed here and wanted to have a bath and worship the Lord and asked the Aandis for a river or well. They said there is none such nearby. A little boy came there, took the traveler to a place and punched the earth with Vel at a place. A spring came up and the traveler’s joy knew no bounds. Lord Muruga granted darshan to him and stayed as Lord Balasubramanya.
