There is a third bus-stand (not exactly a bus-stand but an alighting point for passengers) in front of Milagres Church where most private tour and bus operators: Ideal Travels, Canara, Canara-Pinto, Vishal Travels, Anand Travels, VRL etc. have their offices.

Train : Mangalore has two major railway stations. First is Mangalore Central (IR station code : MAQ) is located at Hampankatta, in the heart of the city. It is a terminus and is used only by the trains which terminate at Mangalore. And second is Mangalore Junction (IR station code : MAJN) is situated in Kankanady, about 5 km from the city centre. Most long-distance trains and all trains not terminating at Mangalore stop at this station. Use Mangalore Central Station whenever possible as there is a prepaid rickshaw counter there. Kudupu Sri Anantha Padmanabha Temple is dedicated to Lord Anantha Padmanabha, another name of Lord Vishnu. Kudupu Sri Anantha Padmanabha Temple is well-known for serpent worship. Main deity Lord Anantha Padmanabha is facing towards the west. Naga Bana (hundreds of serpent idols) though situated in eastern part of the temple it is also facing towards west. The temple at Kudupu also houses a holy pond “Bhadra Saraswathi Thirtha” which is situated left side of the temple. A small shrine dedicated to Sub-deity Jarandaya can be found opposite to the temple. Goddess Shree Devi, Lord Mahaganapathi Lord Subramanya, Jaya and Vijaya are main sub-deities of the temple. The shrines of Ayyappa and Navagraha along with Valmika Mantapa are located outside the temple. Annual festival Shashti, which falls in December is a famous religious ceremony is celebrated here with great devotion. Nagarapanchami, a worship of sacrificing the milk to Lord Naga is another festival is celebrated which attracts a large number of devotees.

St Aloysius Church is located at top the Light House Hill in the campus of St Aloysius College. The chapel, built in 1885 by Rev Father Joseph Willy, intimately matches the world renowned Sistine Chapel at Rome. The chapel is spectacular with some magnificent paintings on the ceiling, fresco painting and oil canvas paintings. The ceiling is decorated with paintings including the portraits of the Crowing of the Cock and many saints. This Chapel was dedicated to the St. Aloysius Gonzaga, a wealthy, successful, young man who gave up worldly life to dedicated himself to the service of the needy. In the animal conservatory, various kinds of reptiles and rare species of birds, along with sambars, anteaters and many other animals. As per the belief of local population, eight tanks of water located within the park have the potential to cure skin diseases. In the park are also found children train, and other facilities. Light house hill offer an amazing view of natural beauty, sun setting and sailing ships. This 18th century historic spot was believed to be built by Haider Ali. There is a public library at the base of the light house with a reading room named after Karnad Sadashiv Rao, a renowned freedom fighter. The light house is surrounded by a picturesque garden known as Tagore Park with green sceneries and plants and flowers. It is a favourite hangout of the tourists specially among the youngsters. St. Aloysius College of Institutions, Aloysius Chapel and an Islam Historical Idgah mosque can be watched from here.

Milagres Church was constructed by Bishop Thomas de Castro, a Theatine priest of Salcette. Constructed in 1680 by Bishop Thomas De Castro, a Theatine priest of Salcette in Goa, this church has an altar with a French painting of St. Monica and St. Augustine. As conversion to Christianity by Portuguese influence waned, Christians began to move further south to Kanara. However, the community lacked priestly leadership, as many of the priests returned to Goa when the Portuguese withdrew.

This Temple on Kadri hills is dedicated to Lord Manjunatha, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The square temple built with nine water tanks, nestles at the foot of the highest hill at Kadri in Mangalore. The idol of Lord Manjunatha is oldest among the south Indian temples. The idol of Lord Manjunatha is made of bronze. The sub-deities include Lord Ganesh, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Durgaparmeshwari, Lord Shasta, Vyasa Muni and Gomukha Ganpathi. Kadri Manjunatha Temple dates back to approximately 1068. The earliest reference to it is in the epigraph dated 968 on this statue. It mentions that King Kundavarma Bupendra of the Alupas lineage, caused the Lokeshwara statue to be installed in Kadarika Vihara. Kadarika is the earliest name of the place, Buddhism took shelter at Kadri mutt till the 10th century. Hence the name Kadri.

Someshwar beach is a place with an endless sandy stretch pearled with the lining of swaying palm trees. The beach is well known for ‘Rudra shila’ which is a large rock. A temple, believed to be constructed during the reign of Abbakka Devi, the queen is also another attraction. The beach offers an awesome view of Arabian Sea. The place is accessible mainly through Someshwara bus stand which is half km from the temple. The place has ruins of a fort and a palace. The beach is popular for its 100 ft light tower, ascending to the top of which can give you a serene view of the Arabian Sea.
