A visit to Vengurla is incomplete without a visit to the Konkan farming university and Fruit Research Centre. This multipurpose institute is a study centre as well as tourist spot. The R and D center specializes in remolding and creating a more efficient and strong variety of Mango and Cashew crop. Sindhu, a brand new variety of mango, was developed by the institute and is now being appreciated by the cynosure of mangoes. The nursery run by the research centre offers a variety of saplings. The cashew factory in the vicinity displays the entire process of cashew separation, roasting and packing.

Shri Aravali Vengurla Devasthan is Aravali’s main temple and its chief tourist attraction. It is situated on the main Shiroda-Vengurle thoroughfare.
Vetoba’s magnificent idol is fashioned out of ‘panchdhatu’ (5 metals). It is bigger than life-size, 9 feet 2 inches tall, and faces north. Vetoba is standing, in all his glory and power, with a sword in his right hand and an agnipatra (small utensil) in his left.
In the temple’s sanctum sanctorum, Vetoba’s idol is flanked by idols of Shri Dev Bhummaiyya, Shri Dev Purwas, Shri Dev Rampurush, Shri Dev Baracha Purwas (Nirakari) and Shri Dev Bhavkai.
It is a tradition to seek Vetoba’s consent and blessing before undertaking any new work in the temple, or when impediments come in its routine work. Devotees and village people seek His blessings during times of difficulties or before undertaking any new work

Aravali is an inviting village in Vengurla Taluka. Vetoba is the main deity of Aravali. Vetoba means Vetal, the king of ghosts, believed to be the guard of the locality. It was in 16th century that a sage (saint) named Mumayya, belonging to the creed Natha pantha, at first reinstated the wooden idol of God Vetoba (1530 AD) Since then, after each century the idol is replaced by a new one with enthusiastic centenary celebration. The second centenary festival was held in 1720, the third in 1820 to 1840, the fourth in 1920 and the fifth in 1996. The wooden image of Vetoba bears a sword in hand. On annual fair-Day of this tempe, devotees offer Vetoba a pair of sandals and bunches of bananas. This festive day is celebrated with zeal and devotion. Thousands of devotees offer Vetoba bananas that are believed to be the most favourite offering to God Vetoba.
The etymological meaning of Aravali is abode of God Shankar. The term Aravali is derived from the ancient Sanskrit name HARAWALLI (HARA means SHANKAR and WALLI means habitation or village (settlement.) Now a days Aravali is being more and more popular as a religious tourist site. It has a clean, white sea-beach where tent resorts and hotels are available. As Aravali is at short distance from Goa, a large number of tourists rush here. Govt. has declared Aravali as a cultural site. (Distance : Vengurla to Aravali: 15km.)

Sawantwadi Palace was constructed by the earliest ruling family of Maharashtra, the Khem Sawants. The palace is believed to have been constructed between 1755 and 1803. The Lester Gate, constructed in 1895, is the entrance of the royal palace. The palace is entirely built using laterite stone and comprises residential areas, a darbar hall and an administrative hall. This palace holds displays of a vast collection of traditional lacquerware and artefacts. The set of furniture, board games, little dolls and paintings are also displayed in the museum. The walls of the palace are adorned with chitkaris. Paintings, wooden and clay artefacts and jewellery belonging to the Sawantwadi royal family, are exhibited in the palace. The Ganjifa Art, lacer work and woodwork paintings dating back to the 18th century are exhibited at the museum. The palace also organises training sessions and workshops for artisans.

Redi Ganpati Temple is situated to the south-west of Sawantwadi, in the vicinity of Vengurla. It is believed that the statue of Lord Ganesha enshrined in the temple was found while digging up the shore in 1976. The idol is believed to have been sculpted during the reign of the Pandavas. The statue of Lord Ganesha is 6 ft high and 4 ft wide. The site is visited by many during the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Redi is gifted with Arabian sea to its west and it has got ancient history of Lord Ganesha. Some years back this place was known for bauxite and others ores of aluminium but today mining is hampered and it is dominated by Usha Ispat Company. Round about 18 years back a local person named Sadashiv Kambli visualised the sclupture of Lord Ganesha in his dreams for this he persuade it for long period and with help of Local workers he dug out the sclupture of Ganesha from sea shore. Today after survey it is now clear that this was made by Panadavas during their rule the sclupture is about 6 feet in height and 4 feets in breadth whole thing was readily found in one single piece.

Jagannath Rao Bhosale Garden, also known as the JB Garden, lies in Sawantwadi. The garden is named after the late Jagannathrao Bhosale, a veteran freedom fighter. The garden, covering an area of around 20 sq m, is segmented into three parts, each serving a special purpose.
The first part of the park has landscaped lawns, tree plantations, waterfalls and fountains. The second region houses a recreation centre and a childrens’ park. The third part has numerous facilities, such as restaurants, reception centres, rest-rooms, communication centres and overnight accommodation options.
