Detail InformationEdit

During the 11th century Wernher von Reichersberg, a famous nobleman, founded today´s Monastery.
Since that time the foundation has been owned by the Augustinian Canons. A terrible fire destroyed the Monastery in the 17th century. Afterwards it was rebuilt in Baroque style.
The building´s interior has been renovated and became one of Innviertel´s most important cultural and religious centers. Today, a full range of courses and seminars is organized by the renowned Reichersberg Augustinians. Guided tours of the Monastery include a visit to the precious church, the cloister and the giant library (45-60 minutes per tour). Donations for the Monastery´s preservation are very welcome!
