Ashgabat, the capital city of Turkmenistan offers visitors with attractions such as grand marble palaces, glossy gold domes and beautifully landscaped parks. The Arch of Neutrality is one of the top tourist attractions in Ashgabat. The 75 m high monument features a revolving 12 m tall golden statue of President Niyazov. Lifts located at the base of the monument take tourists to the viewing platforms that offer panoramic views of the surrounding areas.
The white marble palace of Turkmenbashi located close to the monument is renowned for its intrinsic architecture and is decorated with gold-mirrored glass and Islamic-motif dome. The city also houses several museums including the Fine-Art Museum as well as the National Museum of Turkmenistan. Small Carpet Museum on Ulitsa Kuragli is another important museum showcasing the largest hand-woven rug in the World.
