Arteaga could be a town within the Mexican state of Coahuila. It is the executive centre for the encompassing municipality of a similar name. The municipality covers a complete expanse of one,818.60 sq. Kilometers (702.17 sq mi) and, in 1995, reportable a complete population of eighteen,907. Additionally to the municipal seat, it contains the settlements of San Antonio Diamond State las Alazanas, El Tunal, metropolis Diamond State los Dolores, Huachichil, Los Lirios, Mesa Diamond State Tablas, Bella Unión, Escobedo, and Jamé.
The area was initial owner-occupied by settlers from Tlaxcala in 1580, UN agency named it San Isidro Diamond State las Palomas. On twenty nine Dec 1866 it absolutely was renamed in honour of General José María Arteaga Magallanes, a 19th-century national hero and governor of the state of Querétaro Diamond State Arteaga.
