Arouca may be a city within the East-West passageway of island and island placed nineteen kilometer (12 mi) east of Port of Espana, on the jap road. It’s placed west of Arima, east of Tunapuna and Tacarigua, south of Lopinot, and north of Piarco. It’s ruled by the Tunapuna-Piarco Regional Corporation. Arouca is also a corruption of Arauca, Associate in Nursing someone tribe.
During most of the Spanish rule, Arouca was a settlement reserved for Amerindians. However, once the French arrived in 1783 beneath Governor José Chacon’s Cedula DE Repoblación the Amerindians were restricted to Arima. Most of the land in Arouca was split between the Tablau and Chaumet families. Arouca steady grew into a serious agricultural center, however the extension of the railroad to Sangre Grande in 1898 lured many folks in Arouca to relocate to the additional prosperous Sangre Grande depression.
