Arco may be a town in Butte County, Idaho, u. S.. The population was 995 at the 2010 census. Arco is that the county courthouse and largest town in Butte County. Originally referred to as Root Hog, the initial city web site was 5 miles (8 km) south at the junction of 2 coach lines (Blackfoot-Wood stream and Blackfoot-Salmon). A span that crossed the large Lost River funnelled traffic through the settlement. The town leaders applied to the U.S. Post workplace for the city name of “Junction.”
