Aragon is Associate in Nursing unorganized community on the Tularosa watercourse in Catron County, New Mexico, us. It’s settled at Associate in Nursing altitude of seven,135 feet (2,175 m) seven miles (11 km) northeast of Apache Creek.
Aragon is on the positioning of former Fort Tularosa thirty three°52′52″N 108°32′18″W / 33.88111°N 108.53833°W / thirty three.88111; -108.53833, that was inbuilt 1870 to shield the Apache Indian Agency from the Ojo Caliente Band of Apaches. The fort was abandoned once the tribe was emotional back to the Ojo Caliente reservation in 1874. The fort was restored in 1880 by Buffalo troopers light-emitting diode by Sergeant George Jordan. Jordan eventually received the decoration of Honor for leading twenty five men to repulse a force of quite a hundred Indians within the Battle of Fort Tularosa.The only remaining proof of the Fort may be a site for troopers World Health Organization served within the Arizona Territory.
