Arachova is a town and a former municipality in the western part of Boeotia, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Distomo-Arachova-Antikyra, according the programme Callicrates, of which it is a municipal unit. It is connected by the Greek National Road 48 with Amphissa and Levadia. It is located SE of Amphissa, S of Lamia, W of Levadia, 16o km NW of Athens, NE of Itea, N of Desphina and 12 km E of Delphi.
The urban houses lie from west to east on a hill with a slope of 45 to 50°. The urban area is rectangular. The area around Arachova is mainly grasslands and rocky landscape with a few bushes. It sits on a mountain which is located in the south and the Parnassus mountains in the north. It sits above the valley where a river flows to Livadeia and the Cephissus River.
