Apaseo el Alto may be a Mexican town (and municipality) situated within the state of Guanajuato. The municipality has a section of 491.81 sq. Kilometres (1.6% of the surface of the state) and is lined to the north by Apaseo el Grande, to the east by the state of Querataro, to the south by Jerécuaro and Tarimoro, and to the northwest by Celaya. The municipality had a population of fifty six,817 inhabitants in line with the 2005 census..
In pre-Columbian times Apaseo (Apatzeo) was referred to as Atlayahualco or “place of wherever water flows” by the Otomí folks that lived within the region.The municipal president of Apaseo el Alto and its several smaller far communities, that embrace San Juan del Llanito, San Bartolo and plenty of others, is Martín López Camacho.
