Detail InformationEdit

Antoniusbrunnen Fountain – One of Imst´s most beautiful fountains!
The statue of a monk carrying the infant Jesus dates from the 19th century. It was built by Josef Alois Baldauf (1802 – 1867). Remarkable is the large octagonal basin (1889) with the column.
Water is a formative element for the town of Imst and in Imst there is a remarkable network of irrigation forming flowing streams through the characteristic landscape. The Rosengarten gorge is a unique natural monument right in the center of the town. In an attempt to enliven the inner part of the town using existing substances and the natural given resources, the fountains are being redesigned to make them more attractive and at the same time promote an awareness of the meaning of water as a “life-giving element”.
The idea has been developed to create an informative round tour of the fountains showing the fountains as a characteristic of the town and the fountains as a place to pause and rest for guests and locals alike.
