Angoon (Angun) may be a town on Admiralty Island in Hoonah-Angoon Census space, Alaska, us. At the 2000 census the population was 572, by the 2010 census the population had declined to 459. The name in Tlingit, Aangóon, means that roughly “isthmus city.”
Angoon is that the largest permanent settlement on Admiralty Island. It’s set on associate degree isthmus at the mouth of Kootznahoo body of water on the side of the island. It’s ninety seven kilometre (60 mi) southwest of Juneau. The sole different community on the island is Cube Cove, to the north.
According to the us Bureau of the Census, the town contains a total space of thirty eight.6 sq. Miles (100 kilometre sq), of which, 22.5 sq. Miles (58 kilometre sq) of it’s land and sixteen.1 sq. Miles (42 kilometre sq) of it (41.69%) is water.
