Angamaly is famous for its proximity to the major city of Kochi. This fast developing town is expected be one of the Kerala’s major hubs in few years. Surrounded by the 18 viharamas, which were the major religious centers, Angamaly was a major Buddhist destination in earlier times. One major place of Buddhist background includes Nedumbasserry. The town of Angamaly is close proximity to famous tourist destinations like Kalady and Malayatoor. Kalady, the birthplace of Adi Sri Sankara is just 7 km away from the town. Malayatoor (14 km) houses a huge church which serves as an epicenter for all Christians in India as they visit this town throughout the year. Many temples such as Thirunayathodu temple, the Elavuru temple, the Venguru temple, the Muzhikulam temple, the Kidangooru temple, the Krishnaswamy temple, and the Jain’s temple are also located in and around the region. During festive season these temples are crowded with pilgrims and devotees. Angamaly experiences tropical climate with summer, winter and monsoon seasons. During summer (March to May), the climate is hot with a temperature reaching maximum up to 40°C and minimum up to 22°C. The place experiences heavy rainfall during monsoon season (June to September). In winter (October to December) the climate is very pleasant with a maximum temperature of around 33°C and a minimum of 12°C. This is the best time to visit Angamaly.

By Air : The airport that is nearest to Angamaly is the one in Kochi – Cochin International Airport. This airport has frequent flights to all countries in the Middle East and all locations within India. Cochin International Airport: 0484 261 0115.

By Train : The town of Angamaly also has a railway station that is quite well connected to all the cities in the state. Regular trains will be available to Allepey, Coimbatore, Chennai and Ernakulam.

By BUS : There are two bus stands in the town of Angamaly, and buses from all major cities in Kerala ply to Angamaly. Angamaly has a public bus stand that is controlled by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). The town of Angamaly also has a private bus stand that has deluxe buses to cities like Trichy, Cuddalore, Pondicherry, Nagore, Thiruvarur, Coimbatore, Salem, and Palakkad. Bus fares to nearby locations will range around Rs 150 to 200 and fares for distant locations will range around Rs 500.

By Taxi : Angamaly is well connected by a road network and national highways. The tourist can reach to Angamaly by taxi. The normal Indian taxi charges of Rupees 8 to 20 will be charged for each km.
