Museum’s mission is to promote the knowledge on biodiversity of North-Eastern Poland and the history of life on Earth. Collections: Birds and mammals of Poland Insects of Poland Fossils from the Świętokrzyskie Mountains Fossils from the erratic boulders Arthropods of the tropics Mollusc shells Animals from the coral reefs Antarctic invertebrates Antarctic fossils Birds of the polar regions Fossil penguins from the Eocene La Meseta Formation (Seymour Island, Antarctic Peninsula); a scientific collection with five holotype specimens. Several thousand people, also foreigners, visit museum every year. Furthermore, the Museum takes part in the didactic process carried out at the Institute of Biology and carries out the research work.
