Andaman and Nicobar Islands, are known for being actual Garden of Eden. The island of Andaman is bedecked with the best of natural attractions and host of adventure activities. These beaches are also idyllic picnic spots. Enjoy a visit to the Cellular Jail, Ross Island and Viper Island that forms an important part of the islands heritage. The best time to visit Andaman is during the months of October to May. Also there are many flights that connect to the island. Alternatively tourists can enjoy sailing to the island as well. Ship services are available from Chennai and Vishakhapatnam.

By Air : Andaman’s airport is at Port Blair. It is connected to Chennai, Kolkata and many other cities in the country. Jet and Air India are the major flights operators for Andaman. During the tourist seasons discounted airfares are also provided by the airlines. The cost of the tickets is generally affordable, especially if booked in advance. By Train : Andaman doesn’t have railway station. Chennai Central (MAS) is a close railway station connected to Mumbai for being nearest to Andaman on rail route.

By Other : It is possible to take a ship from Kolkata (~60 hrs), Chennai or Visakhapatnam which takes almost 4 days to arrive in Port Blair. It is less expensive, however, at only 1961 RS (as of Nov. 2011). Facilities are basic, though and many prefer to sleep on the deck rather than in the cramped bunks.
