By Air : There is no airport in Amravati.The nearest airport from Amravati is that of Nagpur, which is well connected with most of the key cities of India. It has regular as well as direct flights to all the metros. Since Nagpur is serviced by both public as well as private carriers, reaching here by air is no problem. By Train : The nearesr railway station is Badnera/Amravati. Badnera falls on the Mumbai-Kolkata main line and forms the terminus of the branch line of Central Railway. The city is connected with almost all the parts of the country by regular trains.
By BUS : Amravati is well connected with other towns and cities within the state as well as those in the neighboring states with a good network of roads . Maharashtra state transport and private buses are most commonly used by people to travel to Amravati and rural parts of the region.
By Taxi : Amravati is well connected by a road network and national highways. The tourist can reach to Amravati by taxi. The normal Indian taxi charges of Rupees 8 to 20 will be charged for each km.

Navratri ; Venue: N.A. ; Period : october ; Details: Navratri (Nine Nights), dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga occurs twice every year and is celebrated with much pomp and show in Amravati. During the nine days of the festival, during which nine different forms of the Goddess is worshipped, a grand Mela (Fair) is organized that is thronged by thousands of people from Amravati and the nearby places. Apart from the local artisans and craftsmen selling goods in the fair, people participate in the local cultural dance called Garbha/Dandiya that goes on till late in the evening. It is really a wonderful experience to be a part of these festivities in Amravati.
