Aguleri is an ancient kingdom in Southeastern Nigeria. Evidence of urbanization can be dated back to 30 BC. It is located in the present Anambra State, with a population of about 300,000. Aguleri is presently composed of five component Autonomous Communities, Igboezunu, Ivite, Eziagulu, Enugu (“Enugu-Aguleri” Not a Village, but a Community in Anambra State):- homeland Igboezunu-otu, Ivite-otu,Eziagulu-otu & Enugu-otu:- riverine area of Aguleri also known as Aguleri-otu
Located on the banks of river Omambala, Igala towns (Kogi state) to the north,Awkuzu and Nteje towns to the south, Nando & Omor towns to the east & Umuleri and Nsugbe towns to the west.
