The affiliated church in St. Georgen an der Mattig was erected in the middle of the 15th century (late Gothic period).
This beautiful affiliated church of St. Georgen an der Mattig is consecrated to Saint George, the patron saint of all farmers and horse traders. In honor of saint George the traditional Georgiritt Procession takes place every four or five years.
Two local artists and brothers, Martin and Michael Zürn, created the most remarkable possession of the church: It´s interior features three precious altars dedicated to Saint George, Saint Martin and Saint Sebastian. In 1979 the church was integrated into the famous Provincial Exhibition, that´s why numerous art enthusiasts still visit the church. In the past it was a renowned pilgrimage site for all those in need of comfort.
