Detail InformationEdit

The village is the residence of Gandli tribe, who are renowned for producing hand-weaved silk-bordered sarees, cloth and dhotis. By manufacturing numerous handloom articles, the village has gained importance in the market owing to the fine quality and texture of handlooms. Besides handlooms, bamboo baskets and various kinds of mats are also produced in the village. The village organises a weekly market on every Sunday that exhibits various household goods, handlooms and cattle for sale. Renowned as a prominent cattle market in the district, the village is acknowledged by the neighbouring areas for its skilful paddy cultivators. Earlier the village was controlled by malguzars but now it has been replaced by the ryotvari system.
