Actopan may be a town and one in every of the eighty four municipalities of Hidalgo, in central-eastern North American nation. The municipality covers a region of 280.1 km². Its name derives from the word “Atoctli” which means “firm, fertile, and wet land” and therefore the word “pan” which means “on” or “over” in Otomi. Thus, the name Actopan involves mean “on the firm, humid, and fertile land”.
