Aconchi could be a little town and therefore the municipality that surrounds it, set within the center of the Mexican state of Sonora. The population of the municipality (urban and rural) was two,452 in 2005 in a vicinity of 358.74 sq. Kilometers. It became a municipality in 1932 however was based in 1639 the Jesuit missionary Bartolomé Castaños.
The municipal seat lies at associate elevation of 609 meters higher than water level. Neighboring municipalities ar Huépac, Cumpas, Ures, Baviácora, Rayón, Banamichi and San Felipe Diamond State Jesús. The land is principally mountainous creating agriculture difficult; so the economy relies on Bos taurus raising. The Río Sonora crosses the municipality from north to south, however its water flow is irregular.
