Acciaroli is an Italian hamlet (frazione) of Pollica (Province of Salerno), located in Campania region and the greatest one of its comune.
Acciaroli lies in the central side of Cilento, by Tyrrhenian Sea, and it is the greatest port of its comune (the other is on the hamlet of Pioppi). The town is far 6 km from Pollica, 20 from Santa Maria di Castellabate, 17 from Velia, 30 from Agropoli, and 70 from Salerno.
The town is a part of “Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park”, which natural environment is composed of “Maquis”, typical of mediterranean countries. It is strongly receptive for tourism, especially on summer; principally because it has gained a national fame due to the quality of its water, which give it the “Blue Flag beach”[2], and the “5 sails” of Legambiente (an Italian environmentalist association) every summer from many years.
