A-Ma Cultural Village is a recently established 7,000 sq. meter complex comprising of several buildings such as palaces, museums, towers, temple and shops. The entire complex was established by the Goddess A-Ma foundation and is a fine replica of a Qing dynasty palace compound. The main attraction at the village is the tall white statue of A-Ma. She is the most beloved deity in Macau and is the legendary protector of sailors and seafarers.
The 20-meter high statue was built in 1998 and is located atop Alto de Coloane. The grand Tian Hou Temple is another important religious site located below the statue. A-Ma Cultural Village houses several attractions and shops that sell handmade products. The scenic Hac Sa Beach, renowned for its breathtaking scenery is also located in the vicinity of the village.
