Kalpathy Temple in Palakkad is located on Kalpathy rivers and is a reminder of one of the oldest settlement of Tamil Brahmins in the this region. The temple is one of the 18 Agraharams of Palakkad District and dates back t the 15th century.The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is approximately 3 km from Palakkad. The best time to visit the temple is during the annual 7-day chariot festival as thousands of deity come to the temple to offer their reverence. The main highlight of the Rath fair is the elaborately embellished Rath or chariot that is taken out for procession in stately grandeur.

Kalpathy Temple in Palakkad is located on Kalpathy rivers and is a reminder of one of the oldest settlement of Tamil Brahmins. The Viswanatha Swamy Temple was built by Kombi Achan, the King of Palakkad in 1425. Kalpathy is one of the 21 Agraharams (Tamil Brahmin residential locality) of Palakkad District on the banks of the Kalpathy River. The village was established in the 15th century.
