Lohja is a town and municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Uusimaa region. The town has a population of 39,721 (31 January 2011) and covers an area of 441.19 square kilometres (170.34 sq mi) of which 91.78 square kilometers (35.44 sq mi) is water. The population density is 113.68 inhabitants per square kilometre (294.4 /sq mi). The municipality is bilingual, although it is not required by the law, with majority being Finnish and minority Swedish speakers.
