Detail InformationEdit
The 6th of October War Panorama is considered the biggest museum or memorial of the 1973 War between Egypt and Israel. It is located in Heliopolis, Cairo. It was inaugurated in October 5th, 1989 by former Egyptian President Mubarak. It was built by a group of Korean architects, and is run by Egyptian National Military Museums Department.
The visitors are directed to a waiting area until the Panorama is open. The waiting area is an outdoor area with food kiosks and vendors. The food kiosks sell burger, hotdog, and other sandwiches at a very low price. The vendors sell plastic toys, pictures of famous pop stars and soccer players. None of the souvenirs were war-related. The only Egyptian souvenir was plastic Pyramids and a sphinx.
Outdoors Show Area It’s a spacious area across from the Panorama building. In it, they are showing war vehicles that were used in the war. There were tanks, airplanes, and weaponry that belonged to both Egypt and The US. The vehicles were freshly painted, which effectively concealed their historic essence.
