Unakoti is a place that is situated in the state of Tripura. It is an ancient pilgrimage place and one can find many sculptures and rock carvings of Gods and Goddesses. The place is also surrounded by lush green scenery and there are numerous sightseeing opportunities here. This site attracts both tourists and pilgrims from many places. Many of the rock carvings in the place depict the life of Lord Shiva and one can see various other scenes from Hindu mythology being depicted on the carvings. The place is also a haven for trekkers and there are numerous sites, where one can engage in activities such as hiking and trekking. It is said that, a visit to Unakoti makes you feel spiritual enlightened. The main sculpture of the place is a 30 feet sculpture of Lord Shiva. This has been cut straight out of a rock face and there are two female figures that can be seen on either side of this. One is presumably Goddess Durga. One can also see three large sculptures of a Nandi Bull half buried in the ground at Unakoti. The other sculptures in the place include those of Lord Hanuman, Lord Ram, Lord Ganesha and Lord Ganapati.

By Air : The city of Agartala has the nearest major airport and if you are planning to arrive by air, this is the only feasible option. There are regular scheduled flights that arrive at the place from several Indian cities and these include Kolkata, Guwahati, Silchar, Mumbai, Imphal, Delhi and Ahmadabad.
By Train : Nearest railway station is at Kumarghat and is well connected from Guwahati and other parts of the country.

By Taxi : Taxis and Auto rickshaws are easily available for moving about in the city.
By Other : Helicopter services are available from the city of Agartala to the town of Kailashahar. These are a quick option and you can hire a jeep from the town to Unakoti. It might be necessary to book the helicopter service in advance.
