Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province, People’s Republic of China, and is one of the largest and most important cities in China. It lies at the intersection of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River (World third longest river) and the Han River (the largest tributary of Yangtze River). Arising out of the conglomeration of three big cities, Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang, Wuhan is a huge city known as “the nine provinces’ leading thoroughfare”. Wuhan ranks fourth by urban population and third in overall strength of science and technology in China.
