Jawhar in Maharashtra was a princely state ruled by Munke dynasty under the rule of British. Jawhar is a city and a municipal council in Thane district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is about 166 km from Mumbai and 80 km from the city of Nasik.The residential palace of the erstwhile rulers of Jawhar has 80 majestically made rooms with attractive interiors. Unspoiled and mostly unexplored waterfalls are the prominent tourist attractions in Jawhar. Dadar-Kopra falls and Palusa are the two scenic waterfalls placed perfectly amidst lush greeneries. The thundering cascade and the white gushing water are breathtaking and eye catching.
