Kolasib is a town that is situated in the Kolasib district of the state of Mizoram. The small town has a tribal population and the beliefs, cultures and traditions of the people are extremely unique to the place. The people of the town are descendants of people from the country of Myanmar and they have distinct features. The inhabitants speak English and Mizo and the main activity in the region is farming. There are few natural sightseeing places in and around the town. Kolasib is surrounded by green fields and many orchid fields. The town is said to be located amidst the clouds and this combined with the greenery produces an ethereal effect. The River Tlwang flows near the town of Kolasib and this is a good spot for picnics. One can engage in activities such as fishing in the river. This might be a good place for a day trip. Other tourist spots include Regional Rubber Research Center and the Bairabi Hydel Project. These are good places to spend time, while travelling to the region.The main attractions of the town are its unique charm and its peaceful locales. This is a good place you can visit in order to escape from the hustle of urban life.

By Air : Aizwal has the closest airport and this is the best bet for those who are arriving by air. The Lengpui Airport is connected some places in the country such as Kolkata, Imphal, Agartala, Guwahati and Dimapur.

By Train : The nearest railhead is situated at the town of Silchar. This town is situated around half way between Aizwal and Silchar and the distance is approximately 90 kilometers from Silchar. The Silchar station is connected to places such as Lumding Junction, Arunachal, Bihara, Hilara, Bagetar and Chandranathpur. Second class sleeper coach ticket prices from Lumding Junction to Silchar are Rs 125. You can reach the town of Kolasib from the station using taxis.

By BUS : There are no bus routes from other major cities to Kolasib. Nearest bus stand is Silchar.

By Taxi : Taxis and Auto rickshaws are easily available for moving about in the city.
